These days, I run into many families with single source of primary income. Even with my situation, I have a full time job but my wife stays home and takes care of our children. Many of people that we know who have children also have a single source of primary income. Taking care of children is a big responsibility and many parents have absolutely no idea how big of a responsibility it is when it comes to taking care of children.
There are also many families with two source of primary income because both parents work full time. This would mean the children must be taken care of by another person or institution like the child care service. Obviously, the cost for the child care can be very high especially if you have more than one child. But my question is this. Even if you can cover the total cost of the child care for your children, is it better for the family if both parents worked full time or is it better if one of the parents to stays home full time and take care of their children? I am leaning towards the latter because I believe our children benefit the most when one of the parents is always there with them as they are growing up. Of course the family will take a hit financially but I still think it is worst the time investment on our kids.
